Hey Sixerdoodle, I’ve got one of your cat faucets, and my solenoid valve finally gave up the ghost! It started not shutting off fully, so I removed it for cleaning, and the hard water deposits had wore away the conical seat! It’s beyond a simple cleaning, it’s a goner. I’d like to buy a new one, but was wondering, have you ever seen one in brass or stainless?

    1. yes, have looked at brass. Works, but typically more expensive. Also watch the brass components for lead content. Some manufacturers use lead addition to the brass to facilitating machining of the parts. So look for brass components that are listed for drinking water, not just water service.
