Cat Faucet MKIII Assembled
This is a fully assembled Cat Faucet MK III. This third generation Cat Faucet uses surface mount components on the controller board to reduce size and the solenoid valve is mounted outside of the controller box. Product components may not be exactly as shown. Some parts vary slightly from order to order.
The Saddle Valve no longer comes by default as a part of this unit. Several options are available for connecting your Cat Faucet to your house water supply. However you choose to connect your Cat Faucet to the water supply you must have some type of T into your water supply line and you must have some type of valve between the T and the Cat Faucet to regulate the water stream to a low enough level that your cat can drink from the outlet tubing. Note that it is the user’s / installer’s responsibility to comply with any / all necessary building codes for your area.

– Order this with your Cat Faucet MKIII assembled unit and you’re all set. This is what we used to supply by default with the Cat Faucet MKIII unit.
– Order this with your Cat Faucet MKIII and you’re all set. This is a one for one replacement for the Saddle Valve. It’s a little harder to install but it does not make a permanent hole in your copper supply line like the Saddle Valve does.
– If you want to use your own T-fitting to tap into your water supply, you can then use this valve to adjust the water flow to the Cat Faucet MKIII.
– If you want to supply your own fittings, just order the Cat Faucet MKIII without any Saddle Valve or other fittings.
Everything you need for a typical install.
This includes the following assembled components:
1 – Solenoid valve and controller mounted in plastic box w/ 5′ of high-pressure and 6′ of low-pressure tubing,
1 – Cat Sensor with 6′ cable and attached connectors,
1 – 120/240VAC 12VDC power supply,
Cat Faucet Saddle Valve
Saddle Valve for use with Cat Faucet. When used with a Cat Faucet, this saddle valve provides both the “T” into and existing water supply line and the necessary flow regulation valve. Connect the Cat Faucet high pressure (white) inlet tubing to the saddle valve, connect the saddle valve to an existing copper water supply and and you’re all set.
The Saddle Valve is quick and easy to install. However it does make a permanent hole in your copper supply line so after it is installed, it can’t be removed. The Saddle Valve is also more of a universal connector as it will work with a copper supply line from 3/8″ all the way up to 1″. Also sometimes it takes a little fiddling to get them to seated properly due to compression nature of the connection between the Saddle Valve and the supply line.
We only supply saddle valves which are marked by the manufacturer as “Lead Free” which indicates “not more than a weighted average of 0.25% lead when used with respect to the wetted surfaces”. These are saddle valves are approved for sale in the US for use in drinking water systems. You’ll find cheaper saddle valves out there by likely they’re not marked for use in drinking water systems.
Cat Faucet Angle Adapter
Angle Stop Adapter Valve installs between the cold water supply valve and the riser line to your faucet and connects to your Cat Faucet supply line. This valve provides the T-fitting into your house water line and the necessary flow rate regulator valve all in one unit. Same functionality as a Saddle Valve except that rather than piercing the copper supply line, this valve is inserted in-line. You must disconnect the existing 3/8″ compression fitting to your sink faucet and insert the Angle Stop Adapter valve and re-connect the 3/8″ compression fittings. The build in 1/4″ push in fitting, then connects to the Cat Faucet supply tuning. While more complicated to install than the saddle valve, this unit is potentially more reliable and it is potentially removable.
This unit has 3/8″ compression fittings on both ends. If you have a different size supply line or different fitting type, you will need to provide your own fitting or T.

Cat Faucet Shutoff Valve
1/4″x1/4″ shutoff valve with push-in connectors. If you simply T into your existing water supply, you still need to provide a flow rate control valve between the T and the Cat Faucet solenoid valve. This valve with 1/4″ push-in connectors is an easy way to provide that flow control. If the water comes out of your Cat Faucet too fast, simply close this valve a bit.

IR sensor for all Cat Faucet versions. Assembled and tested.

Assembled and tested device includes all optional components and is delivered configured for 3.3v I/O operation
user can re-configured to 5v I/O operation by changed the solder jumpers on the board. ATTiny261 comes programmed
with latest Sixerdoodle USBGPIO firmware. User can re-program device with their own firmware or modify the delivered
firmware as they see fit.
NOTE – as of last testing, the current Perl module Device-USB was nonfunctional with the current LibUSB-Win32 version. So if you’re intending to try to use the Perl interface to LibUSB-Win32 with this device, make sure you verify you can successfully build the Perl module Device-USB. Let me know if you get it working and what versions you had. testing here I could not find a working combination.
