Another project from several years ago. Just had to open it up to work on the power supply, so I thought I'd document the Nixie Clock that I built.

Lots of folks doing Nixie Clocks, just do a quick google and you'll find a bunch. All of them are by nature a combination of old and new. The nixie tubes generally are from the 50's and 60's. Pre-LED digital outputs. You can still find'em if you look hard enough. I got mine from Sphere Research. The only tricky bit to interfacing with nixie's is they need to be driven by a 160VDC power supply. Something you can't go buy at Radio Shack!

Below you'll find the project outlined in pictures. There is no kit because the whole thing was basically a one-off hand-wired beast...
